Japan Tourism Ministry Elects Arashi as The Face Of Japan

ArashiIf Arashi wasn't already busy enough with their musical releases, performances, television shows, acting roles and advertisements, now they've been elected by Japan's Tourism Ministry to be the face of Japan in a series of promotions aimed at the rest of the world, with a focus leveraging their popularity in a new series of commercials to air in China and East Asia.

Band members Jun Matsumoto, Masaki Aiba, and Sho Sakurai announced their cooperation with this "Japan Endless Discovery" tourism promotion at a press conference in Tokyo yesterday. The three practiced their pitch delivery live at the event, in English, Chinese and Korean.

Oricon reports that tourism is growing nicely in Japan. They predict that 15 million foreigners will visit Japan in 2013. They've set their sights on a goal of 30 million visiting.
