Jamaica's Gleaner recently sat down with reggae sensation Gyptian for a pretty revealing interview, during which the musician reflected on his career achievements thus far, and hinted at his plans for the future. Following the success of his recent singles, 'Life Hard,' 'Jah Jah World,' and 'Hold You,' Gyptian is planning on touring around Europe soon to promote the release of his third studio album. The artist, who first achieved worldwide recognition with his 2006 debut album, 'My Name is Gyptian,' says that his current success is somewhat humbling, and sometimes difficult to put into perspective. As he told the Gleaner, "Honestly, to be touring so much and getting so many performance requests is something overwhelming. It don't seems real at times." He also admitted that his music has evolved as his life has changed, saying " There's a lot of difference in me now. First, there is maturity and the music I produce is positive music."
Most telling, though, is his unshakeable faith in the power of music. "I have been around and know that music is the strongest thing around,"says Gyptian. "How I know that music is powerful? Look where it has brought me. Music did all of this, it brought everything."
