It's an all-too common tragedy in contemporary music, and one that we've been seeing on repeat for the past few decades now; a band gets big and starts to create brilliant music, only to see their lead singer and Alpha Dog leave the group to pursue his own solo greatness. Sure, there's always the "hiatus" word thrown around, and sometimes bands do reunite somewhere down the line. But more often than not, "solo project" spells the end of the road for the musical collective. Fortunately, Tokio Hotel will not fall prey to this vicious cycle--that is, if you believe their lead singer.
Bill Kaulitz, the 20-year old lead singer of the German group, recently promised fans that he would never abandon the group for the sake of his own solo career. As The Local reports, Kaulitz did admit that he has entertained ideas of doing different things by himself, and admitting that "there will certainly be periods were we take longer breaks. But the end of Tokio Hotel? Never!"
Of course, only time will tell whether or not Kaulitz keeps his word. In the meantime, Tokio Hotel fans can breathe a little easier knowing that even though the group may disappear from the mainstream every now and then, they won't be disbanding anytime soon.
