Luis Miguel and Live Nation Announce Global Touring Deal

Luis MiguelAccording to Billboard, Mexican pop singer Luis Miguel (aka the Latin Frank Sinatra) has signed a multi-million dollar global touring deal with Live Nation. The deal will cover at least 100 concerts beginning in September. Miguel is the second Latin artist to sign with Live Nation--Shakira was the first.

While Miguel's concerts consistently sell-out in his native Mexico, some argue that his popularity in other parts of the world has waned, including the U.S. One reason for this may be the fact that Miguel has refused to record an English-language album and therefore doesn't have the same draw as say, Ricky Martin or Enrique Iglesias. Miguel's last tour grossed almost $28 million over 57 shows. The five time Grammy winner has sold over 100 million albums worldwide and is currently in the studio working on a new album.
