C.N. Blue Responds to "Unbelievable" Allegations of Plagiarism

C.N. BlueThey haven't been around all that long, but KPOP boy band C.N. Blue is already facing some heat after allegations that their latest single, 'I'm a Loner,' is a direct rip-off of Ynot's 'Blue Bird.' Their agency, FNC Music, has been quick to contest any rumors, saying in a statement that claims of plagiarism are "unbelievable" and that the songs "are barely similar." While they admit that there are some similarities with regard to chord structure, they also argue that if such subtle similarity is grounds for plagiarism, then "all the music on this planet will never be free from such controversy."

As AllKPOP notes, any rumors of plagiarism are, for the moment, just word of mouth. As FNC fairly pointed out, "Plagiarism can only be determined by the courts ruling. There hasn't even been a court ruling but the media is already throwing around such hot words." They warned, though, that they do "plan to take appropriate measures against these outlets." The group's management team has also accused Ynot, who called into question the authenticity of the track, of simply using the claim as a publicity stunt, and of "riding on the coattails of C.N. Blue's rising popularity and fame."

Min Kyung Hoon Makes Long Awaited KPOP Comeback

Min Kyung HoonAfter 2 years of silence, former Buzz member Min Kyung Hoon has returned to the KPOP scene, announcing today that he'll be releasing a new album on February 4th. As AllKPOP reminds us, the pop rock group rose to fame in 2007, but just as their popularity peaked, they announced a hiatus, before officially breaking up in 2008.

There hadn't been much news from any of the members until December 2008, when Min Kyung Hoon released a teaser single, 'Haru,' which was supposed to herald his official comeback in 2009. That scheduled comeback was delayed, and now it seems like Buzz fans will finally be able to hear some new sounds from their beloved group--even if the rest of the gang isn't there.

Trax Returns Next Week With New Mini-Album

Korean rock band TraxBelieve it or not, it's been a full three years since the Korean rock group Trax released an album. According to AllKPOP, though, the wait will soon be over. The group has just announced that they'll be releasing a six-track mini-album on January 25th, a work that will feature appearances from the likes of WheeSung, SHINee's Key, and Shin Min Chul of T-Max. The main single off of the album seems to be the title track, 'Let You Go,' which you'll definitely be hearing on stations across the Internet very soon.

The most interesting part of the group's comeback, though, is the conspicuous absence of Jungwoo, who has not been mentioned at all in connection with the comeback album--nor does he appear in any of the promotional photos circulating around the web. As of now, though, there has been no official confirmation that he's left the group.

BEAST Dispells Rumors of Discontinued Album Promotions

kpop group BEAST

Following Cube Entertainment's recent announcement of a partnership with Universal Music aimed at promoting KPOP groups like BEAST and 4minute all over Asia, fans of BEAST were fraught with concern that their favorite boy band would halt current promotions for their first mini-album. As AllKPOP reports, though, Cube has assuaged any lingering fears fans may harbor, assuring them that the group's domestic promotional activities will indeed go on, even as the boys head off for promotions in Taiwan starting January 23rd.

It's understandable why Korean fans would want to keep BEAST close to home. Their debut mini-album 'Mystery' has already set sales records across the country, moving over 20,000 copies in just 3 months--the most for any debut KPOP group. Even as the band starts to look outward, fans can at least sleep easy knowing that they won't be abandoning their Korean base any time soon.

2PM Go On Hiatus as Members Pursue Solo Careers

2pm

Fresh off of their prolonged string of promotional activities for their new 'Heartbeat' music video, KPOP group 2PM has announced that they'll be going on an extended break, in order for the band members to pursue solo musical careers. According to AllKPOP, Taecyon will start filming on the Korean TV program 'Family Outing Season 2' while Nickchun will begin filming for the upcoming film 'The Shining Diploma.' The other members will be involved in various other solo activities of their own during the hiatus--although it doesn't seem like the break will last too long. After all, the group is due to come out with a new album in April.
