Starting August 17 broadcasters will be able to upgrade their stations to the all-new SHOUTcast 2.0 infrastructure. In order to do so, broadcasters will need to sign up for Authorization Hash Keys that they will need to plug into their SHOUTcast servers' config files. The Auth Hash generation scripts will go live on SHOUTcast.com starting August 17 2010.
The goal of SC_SERV2 is to provide enhanced serving features and access to the new yp2 infrastructure
while maintaining as much backward compatibility with the previous sc_serv as possible.

Release Notes:
1) Serve multiple streams from a single server instance
2) Relay multiple streams from a single server instance
3) Multiplex all server activity through a single IP port.
4) Shoutcast 2 wire protocol support for sources, relays and clients
5) Repackaging of Shoutcast 1 and Shoutcast 2 data as appropriate for the connecting client(s)
6) yp2 infrastructure support
To take advantage of these new features you will also need the following:
1) sc_trans version V2 B38 or higher: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....hreadid=317229
2) authorization hashes (register as a broadcaster in the new infrastructure and you will be issued the necessary hashes) - COMING AUGUST 17 2010!
sc_serv must be configured to use the yp2 infrastructure to take advantage of the multiplexing and multiple stream support. The original yp interface had no means of
expressing multiple streams from a single port.
The yp2 interface is still in development and will be released soon! Stay tuned for updates.
If you are going to connect multiple sc_trans instances to sc_serv, you must use the Shoutcast2 protocol.
The original Shoutcast protocol had no means of specifying a stream ID. Clients connecting to the
server do not need Shoutcast2 support, since sc_serv will repackage the stream data and metadata for them as appropriate.
Comments / bug reports / feedback / feature requests welcome and encouraged!

2. "New genre list makes it easier to find stations"
NOT TRUE!!! It was MUCH easier before.
The new interface is awful.

3. I do not like the new interface at all. The old site presented a lot of information in a nice, compact format. I used to enjoy browsing through all the stations, listening to some at random no matter what the genre might be. I can no longer do that easily. Even more incredible is the statement above that "Presenting the first Beta point-release of what will be the next generation of SC_SERV SHOUTcast DNAS broadcasting server!". This is BETA software but you have totally redesigned the site to accommodate it? This is taking the cake out of the oven before it's fully baked. I am not resistant to change, I understand it can be a good thing, but this goes beyond change to something unrecognizable. I had to re-enter the site address several times in my browser to make sure I was really at the right place. You have taken what was an eminently usable interface and totally trashed it. I want my old Shoutcast back!

4. I have few questions for people who really have a answer:
- Where are demo config files from SHOUTcast DNAS 2?
- Why index stations without logic now new YP2?
- How is possible to replace a stable version (SHOUTcast DNAS 1.9.8) with a beta version (SHOUTcast DNAS 2)?
Thank's

Flo

10. what the frak! i come in to find some new stations to add to my win amp book marks. only to find this crap of a layout. this is what my contribute funds for my favorite went to. Should of had a link to test this version out on shout cast home page giving us the option to go back to the old look. I cant open any music in winamp. it pops a new window to play. I dont need a new window floating around. dont make us go back to apples bloated player. please give us the old look and feel.
Over 7 years of service and this.

11. """Where is the old SHOUTcast Classic (black) website?"""
Yea that's what i want to know!!! I love shoutcast and use it every
single day. It was much easier to load up new staions using the
default player popup so i could load *.pls files from the browser.
Please bring this feature back.

12. WOW, I came looking for my trusted ShoutCAST and I find that the website has completely changed and the a plug-in for Songbird has not been updated from AOL/ShoutCAST for 6 months. Ummm.. I have been using ShoutCAST since it started and I LOVE the simple black website that has been working!! The better idea, (this is where AOL should pay attention) update the old black website theme and keep it simple. I don't mine change at all, but when you make a website HARDER to use you make people stop using your service; even the paying ones!! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring back the old black website theme and (AOL) if you need something new, just give it and update so it Web2.0 and stuff. ;)

13. I'm a Broadcast Engineer for 8 commercial radio stations, I don't have time to fool with allot of crap. I've been using ShoutCast and WinAmp for years. I STILL use WinAmp 2.5, because it works, its fast and simple (newer versions are slow and bulky) I use the V1.9 of the shoutcast software. On our servers I use additional setups of the server software, one for each station. It Works fine. I chose WinAmp and ShoutCast because it’s easy and simple! As for the ShoutCast website…I don’t really care how bad you screw it up. We have our own sites that we want our listeners to go to. New isn’t always good. (Except for those trying to justify their jobs) Keep It Simple Stupid.

14. The former Black and Yellow website was far superior and I could browse stations and pick and
choose as I wanted. Now its an unfriendly environmnet for browsing stations.
Basically, you've screwed up a really good website and believe me, I am REALLY concerned as I was a daily user of the old site. All you have managed to do is alienate and annoy thousands of users.
AOL did it again ... NOT !
