LAMC 2010 Lineup Includes El Guincho, Nortec, Toy Selectah and Others

The Latin Alternative Music Conference is the year's biggest event for Latin America's most edgy, interesting, and groundbreaking music. Like previous years, the 11th annual LAMC will take place in New York City, celebrating Latin Alternative music from July 6-10. More than just a forum, the event has revolutionized Latin music in both the U.S. and Latin America, welcoming thousands of LAMC attendees looking for the latest emerging sounds to new music marketing strategies and technological advancement.

This year, the LAMC has announced the initial lineup of artists participating at the event's several stages, as well some of its topics for their renowned panels. The industry's cream of the crop will discuss several topics shaping Latin Alternative music, such as the rise of Latin bands at Coachella and 'The Explosion of Latin Alternative Music in Television and Film.'

The first line of artists set to perform at Central Park and Prospective Park indicates we're heading towards one of LAMC's most exciting showcase programs. Spain's universally-acclaimed El Guincho will bring his delirious fusion of pop and tropicalia to an audience that loves him and has yet to see him perform at any Latin music festival. Mexico will be represented by cumbia master Toy Selectah, the legendary Maldita Vecindad and Nortec Collective Presents Bostich + Fussible. Fidel, the former leader or Argentinean rasta punk band Todos Tus Muertos is also expected to rock Prospect Park after a triumphant performance at this year's Vive Latino.

Because of the struggling economy, the LAMC teamed up with Jack Daniels to offer advance registration for just $99 for all attendees, compared to the $299 walk-up registration price. The LAMC will announce an extensive artist showcase in the upcoming weeks.
