As pointed out by the World Cup blog, the Shakira, Freshly Ground collaborative anthem 'Waka Waka (Time For Africa)' is actually largely "borrowed" from a song by the Cameroonian band Golden Sounds, who ironically, later changed their name to Zangaléwa -- the same name as the song in question. In fact, the tagline in the original chorus is plucked verbatim for the official World Cup song.
In addition to this interesting anecdote, there's a terrifying freeze frame at the 3:15 minute mark of the official video (see above). Hit the jump to watch both the official video and a performance of 'Zangaléwa.'

1. No, no, no.
That is not the official video! It's not even out yet. You think that the official video of the 2010 World Cup song is just replayed football footage? haha. Funny picture though.
It is common knowledge that the Waka Waka chorus is borrowed from Zangalewa. It's not plagiarized. It is in honour and a tribute to a well loved African song.
