This weekend's Juno Awards proved Michael Bublé to be the year's music industry knockout with a total of four awards, while rap artists K'Naan collected two including Artist of the Year and Drake made his first appearance on the Canadian music scene's biggest stage. K'Naan, the Somali-born artist behind the World Cup anthem 'Wavin' Flag' won awards for both Songwriter of the Year and Artist of the Year, while Drake beat out tweeny bopper Justin Bieber for New Artist of the Year (confirming that there is, indeed, still a God in Canada).
Michael Bublé took home awards for Album of the Year and the slightly redundant Best Pop Album, both for his record 'Crazy Love.' He also won the Fan Choice award and a fourth Juno for Best Single ('Haven't Met You Yet').
Meanwhile, perennial alt-favorites Metric won an award for both Group of the Year and Alternative Album of the Year, 'Iron Maiden: Flight 666' won Best Documentary, and April Wine was officially announced as a future inductee into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Also honored was Bryan Adams for his charity work with the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award.
The biggest rise of the night came out of a most-likely inebriated Michael Bublé upon receiving his Best Pop Album award when he poked fun at three-time nominated, three-time loser Justin Bieber's hair.
"Seven years ago I came to this event as a pudgy young kid full of dreams and I come here tonight as a middle-age balding man whose dream is to have hair like the Beibes," he said, and then added, "I love that flop thing he does with his hair. Just do it for me, motherf---er!" Go here to see the full list of Juno Awards winners.
