Coachella 2010 starts today, and among its well-assorted lineup we can find a total of five Latin bands set to perform on the three-day festival celebrated at Indio, California. Perhaps a reflection of the fast growing population of Latinos in the U.S., Coachella has never looked this appealing towards Latin Rock lovers. Previous Latin acts that have performed at Coachella include Café Tacvba, Porter, Julieta Venegas, El Gran Silencio, Molotov among others.
Puerto Rican duo Calle 13 will be the first Latin act to perform today, and they'll do it big performing at Coachella's main stage. This could be a huge moment for the Urban act who had been waiting for an opportunity like this to expand their music to the American hipster culture. Also performing today is Brazilian darling Ceu, the Latin Grammy nominated artist was one of the big surprises when the lineup was announced.
Mexican rockers Zoe will hit the stage on Saturday, hoping to prove why they are Mexico's current rock sensation. Although hard to understand why it took so long, legendary band Aterciopelados will make its long-awaited appearance. Lastly, Argentinean band Babasonicos will finally add Coachella on their long list of merits.
