Tony Dize Scores Big with 'El Doctorado'

Up until recently, Tony Dize had been just another under-the-radar reggaeton artist, but his song 'El Doctorado' has crossed him over to commercial success. The Puerto Rican artist is part of a lineage of underground artists that first found success working with Luny Tunes, reggaeton's top producers. Dize tried to establish a career through Luny Tunes hot-selling compilations, but he didn't quite breakthrough until Wisin y Yandel recruited him in their successful mentorship album, 'Los Vaqueros.' Four years after, Tony Dize is finally making the transition from a breakthrough to a major force in Latin radio.

In 2008, Dize released his debut album 'La Melodia de la Calle,' although it didn't provide any major hits, Dize believed so much on the album's potential that he released an 'updated' edition of the album. The first cut from the album is titled 'El Doctorado' is currently the #1 Reggaeton single in Latin America. Technically, 'El Doctorado' is closer to Salsa and Merengue, but at this day and age, tropical music has been fused so much that music hybrids have become almost second nature.

Tony Dize owns a very distinctive voice, and the level of production in this new release has refined his songs at all levels. 'Updated' features collaborations with his mentors Wisin & Yandel, as well as top reggaeton artists Don Omar, Arcangel and Ken-Y.
