While Marc Anthony's might mostly be known as the husband of Jennifer Lopez among American media, the five-time Grammy winner has kept an impeccable career with his Latin audience. It seems like he will keep his English-language listeners hanging a bit longer as he has announced a new album, in Spanish. The singer has not released original material since 'Valio La Pena,' over six years ago. He did however, released the soundtrack of 'El Cantante,' made of covers by legend Hector Lavoe. In the film, he played the role of Lavoe and shared acting credits with his wife. More recently, his name has reached the charts due to his collaborations with La Quinta Estacion and J-LO's Spanish-language album 'Como Ama Una Mujer.'
Anthony is known as both, a Latin Pop balladeer and Salsa's most prominent singer. The new album is said to combine both genres and to many of his fans' discontent, it will be a covers album. Some of the artists he will be covering include Spanish composer Jose Luis Perales and Mexico's Juan Gabriel and Jose Jose.
