RBD's Christian Chavez to Release First Solo Album

Christian Chavez become widely known throughout the world as part of RBD, a music and television phenomenon that sold over 20 million records in the barely four years it existed. Now, Chavez has announced the release of his first solo album. Entitled 'Almas Transparentes,' it's the second solo release from an ex-RBD member following his colleague Anahi's debut album 'Mi Delirio,' which was called a disaster by both critics and fans.

After RBD's separation, the group members have followed their acting careers in popular Mexican Telenovelas. Chavez has instead, dedicated his time to musical theater and recording his life-long dream. Although he was RBD's strongest voice, he was initially overshadowed by the popularity of the other members of the group, but only until he revealed his homosexuality, and that he was in fact, married to a man. This revelation sparked controversy among conservative groups in Mexico and Latin America, quickly putting Christian Chavez squarely in the spotlight.

As the 26 year old artist promotes the album's first single, 'En Donde Estas?,' he also dedicates time as a spokesman for several HIV and Anti-Homophobic causes. 'Almas Transparentes' will be available in stores March 23.
