While not formally recognized, it's common knowledge that the Vivian Girls and The Mae Shi hold the record for most performances in a single SXSW year. The Mae Shi set the bar at 18 in 2008, only to have the Vivian Girls match it a year later. Now, Canada's noise-rock purveyors DD/MM/YYYY are looking to break that record at SXSW 2010 by not one, but two shows, for a total of 20 performances in a four-day span.
According to Impose Magazine, the band will start their record-setting string on Tuesday, March 16 at the Freaks Meet Folks party, before closing it out with 5 shows on Saturday, March 20, ending at the Impose / We Are Busy Bodies showcase at the Longbranch Inn. Included in their performances are XM and KVRX radio sessions as well as shows with Andrew WK and fellow Canadian Matthew Good. You can see DD/MM/YYYY's record-setting schedule after the jump.
