Sizzla to Play Ghana's Birthday Party Days After Mugabe's

SizzlaDays after Robert Mugabe's birthday celebration, where Sizzla had to intercede to protect Zimbabweans from being brutally beaten by local police, sources in Ghana have announced that the Jamaican reggae star will also be the marquee name for the country's upcoming celebration of its own birthday.

Unlike the ultimately violent Zimbabwe festivities, the Ghana shows won't be state-sponsored, but rather organized by two local production firms, that also plan to book Cheesy Wailer, last year's recipient of Ghana Music Award's Best Reggae Artist of 2009.

The shows will go down March 5 and 6 (Ghana's Independence Day) at the Ohene Gyan Sport Stadium in Accra and March 8 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumas.

He also released a promo video to announce his shows, which you can see after the jump.
