The inductees for the March 15th Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony were announced a while ago, but now, we know who will be officially welcoming the class of 2010 into music immortality. As Rolling Stone reports, Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, Phish's Trey Anastasio, Steven Van Zandt and Wyclef Jean will all be on hand next month to officially introduce this year's group of inductees.
While Genesis, The Stooges, and ABBA will certainly claim the lion's share of the media spotlight as they waltz into the Hall, perhaps the most significant induction is none other than Jimmy Cliff, who will join Bob Marley as the only two reggae musicians immortalized in Cleveland. It's all too fitting, then, that Wyclef Jean would be chosen to welcome him, in no small part because of the attention he's so worthily garnered on the part of his charitable relief efforts in Haiti. Wyclef, in fact, performed a rendition of Cliff's timeless classic 'Rivers of Babylon' on the Hope for Haiti Now televised special.
