Two KPOP 5-member boy bands, TVXQ--who also go by DBSK and Tohoshinki--and Big Bang won Japan Golden Disk Awards February 24th. According to ALLKPOP, both groups certainly turned their attention to the Japanese market full force in 2009 as, they released albums there and nothing in Korea.
TVXQ won 'The Best Music Video' Award for 'All About Dong Bang Shinki Season 3.' Big Bang, who made their Japanese debut in June 2009 with their first single 'My Heaven,' were one of five to receive 'The Best 5 New Artists' Award. The follow up singles, 'Gara Gara Go' and 'Koe Wo Kikasete' obviously helped to establish their popularity, helping them land recognition at Japan Golden Disk Awards.
However, the big winner of the night was the Japanese boy band, Arashi, who ended up taking home 10 awards.
