The Very Best is comprised of Euro-production team Radioclit and the Malawian vocalist Esau Mwamwaya, and they've made a name for themselves re-making songs by the blogosphere's biggest indie names. And since Brooklyn-based Yeasayer have been tabbed as such, and long been pegged as purveyors of a Western interpretation of Eastern, African, and Southern music, it's an easy translation from the original instrumental melodies, sans Yeasayer frontman Chris Keating's vocals.
The remix marks the latest contribution Esau Mwamyaya's made as the rare Malawian vocalist in the American and European indie rock world. The album he released with his London cohorts, 'Warm Heart of Africa,' won nearly universal accolades from the indie press. you can hear the re-mixed single here.
