Bonnaroo Lineup Adds Baaba Maal and Tinariwen

America's favorite rebel musicians Tinariwen, and Senegalese singer and guitarist Baaba Maal, will both be repping Africa at this year's Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee, USA.

The hippy fest on the hill, best known for headlining the likes of Phish and Dave Matthews Band, has expanded the scope of its musical vision in recent years, such that the festival counts among its headliners Jay-Z, and Nas and Damian Marley performing together.

It's not the only American appearances for either Baaba Mal or Tinariwen. As previously noted on this website, Tinariwen will soon embark on a North American tour that will last through the spring.

Baaba Mal is slated to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York on February 26 as part of the Tibet House 20th Annual Benefit Concert, and will tour through much of the United States in April and May 2010. You can check out Baaba Maal's full tour schedule after the jump.
