Vive Latino is not only Latin America's answer to Coachella, it's the biggest music festival in the region. Every year, thousands of Rock En Espanol aficionados travel to Mexico City's Foro Sol to enjoy Vive Latino's three music stages. This the 11th edition of the festival. While most of the bands announced appeal towards Latin America's youth, we can see some great variety from across the continent, like Colombia's Aterciopelados and Spain's Nacho Vegas, to Chile's Los Tres, Venezuela's Los Amigos Invisibles and Uruguay's El Cuarteto de Nos. Rodrigo y Gabriela, now officially one of the world's most successful acts, will also participate in the festival that will be held April 23-25. In years past, the festival has been criticized for its lack of urban acts, a change that resulted in Calle 13's participation. Despite the fact many in attendance resisted their hip hop and reggaeton fusion, the Puerto Rican duo will be back on stage, now as one of Latin Alternative's most engaging acts. The fest has established a fair amount of talent, serving as a guide for radio programmers, bloggers and other music festivals on the hottest alternative artists from Latin America. This year they even recruited a couple of international bands like Empire of the Sun and Calexico. See the full lineup after the jump.
