Jamaica Begins 'Reggae Month' With Dennis Brown's Birthday Bash

Dennis BrownJamaica's Reggae Month is kicking off this year with a special tribute to the late legendary musician Dennis Brown, whose 53rd birthday was celebrated on Monday. To commemorate the anniversary, a special event was held in Kingston, not far from Brown's former home.

As the Gleaner reports, the evening featured a cake cutting ceremony, as well as appearances from Brown's former touring buddies, Lloyd Parks and We the People Band. Famed emcee Tommy Cowan was also on hand, as were producers Leggo, Derrick Harriott, and Bunny 'Striker' Lee.
