Alborosie Makes U.S. Touring Debut

AlborosieReggae's rising star Alborosie is due to make his Stateside debut later this month when he holds a series of concerts throughout California, all in an effort to promote his latest album, 'Escape from Babylon to the Kingdom of Zion.' The album's title, it turns out, actually carries a lot of personal weight for the Italian-born artist, who left Italy for Jamaica shortly after finding European commercial success with his original group, Reggae National Ticket. Since moving to Jamaica, he's enjoyed small-scale success, with the help of hit singles like 2008's 'Herbalist' and 'Kingston Town.'

'Escape,' though marks a watershed moment in the artist's career, and judging on the exuberant fan reception that singles like 'Stepping Out,' and 'Humbleness' have already enjoyed, it looks as if it could very well serve as a commercial turning point for Alborosie. The tour kicks off on February 13th in Arcata, California, and will continue through the 21st, when it wraps up in Long Beach.
