When dimmSummer started the online radio station Ethnotechno a decade ago, he had no idea that job would eventually translate into a role producing and creating music. Yet that's exactly what's happened. His new ten-track compilation, Nu Asian Soundz, is presenting the most inventive sounds emerging from South Asia from producers around the planet. DimmSummer kicks off Nu Asian Soundz with an unreleased track of his own, 'Rubstep.' New Delhi's Jalabee Cartel appears with their track, 'Mirrors [Breed Remix],' while another India-born producer, dk aka Bollygirlnyc, makes up one-half of Goonda. The duo offers two songs here. Other producers included South Asian-inspired efforts by David Starfire, Radiohiro, and Liquid Stranger. This collection boasts lots of history as well as points to new directions for South Asian-inspired sounds to take; more than anything it boasts plenty of great music.
