TolumiDE Set to Release New Album

TolumiDE record My LoveNigerian-born singer TolumiDE first broke into music as part of the dancehall group Women Ah Run Things. Now, though, she's decided to take a major solo step into gospel territory, with the upcoming release of her feature length debut album 'My Love.' According to BREATHECast, the album, scheduled to drop this April, is "a sonic collage of urban, contemporary gospel, reggae, funk, soul, and R&B music and of course, African rhythms."

TolumiDE, who grew up in Canada, first grabbed the gospel/R&B world's attention back in 2008, when she released her EP 'Specialty,' featuring the single 'Because You Know.' For the singer, though, the process of constructing an album was much more than just a matter of production. As she says, "The process of songwriting and going into the studio is like working on an art piece for me. I always come out astonished at the masterpiece unfolding thinking, 'Did I really write all that?'"
